Brattleboro Food Co-op Announces New General Manager, Anthony Santorelli

Brattleboro, VT – January 22, 2024

The Brattleboro Food Co-op is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Santorelli as its new General Manager, effective January 22nd. The decision was reached after a thorough selection process, culminating in a Board of Directors vote on January 10th.

Anthony Santorelli, who has served as the Co-op’s Chief Financial Officer for the past nine months, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. The Board’s decision was influenced by strong internal support from managers and unionized staff, coupled with Anthony’s demonstrated leadership skills.

The Board of Directors actively searched for a new General Manager since the departure of Lee Bradford in late August. Out of over two hundred applicants, three finalists were selected. Anthony Santorelli emerged as the top candidate following a comprehensive two-day interview process, which included a full store tour, interviews with the management team, conversations with various teams, and a final interview with the Board of Directors.

Anthony’s background includes over 25 years of experience in the grocery industry, predominantly in the wholesale sector. His expertise spans areas such as finance, accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, end-to-end supply chain, and mergers and acquisitions. As a strategic thinker and a team-oriented leader, Anthony has made significant contributions since joining the Co-op as CFO in April 2023.

Among his accomplishments at the Brattleboro Food Co-op, Anthony initiated capital planning for FY24 and enhanced reporting structures. He played a vital role in changing banking relationships to align with current and future needs. His integral involvement in Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations showcased his general insight and financial acumen.

In addition to his professional achievements, Anthony Santorelli is an active member of the Vermont community, having resided in the state for 30 years. Currently, Anthony resides in Westminster with his partner, Delsa. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, including year-round hiking and winter skiing. He is also a dedicated fan of live music.
