How to register for an account: shareholders

Instructions for shareholders shopping online for the first time.

Please note, if you are a BFC shareholder, you already have an account, even if you’ve never shopped online with us. Make sure you follow the instructions here to access your online account. If you create a NEW account, you will not receive your discounts or be able to access your in-store shopping history.

1. Click the Shop Online button on any page or visit Shop.BFC.coop. This will take you to our online shopping portal, which is called Webcart.

2. Click Register at the top-right corner of the screen (located next to the Shopping Cart icon).

3. There will be a note that says “Already signed up for an account in store?” above the Create Account form. Follow the link in that note to set your password, as pictured below.

4. You’ll be taken to a Reset Password window where you’ll be asked to choose your Reset Method: Call, Email, or Text. A verification code will be delivered to you via whichever method you choose. Here’s where it could get tricky! The information that the Co-op has in association with your shareholder number will be used to reset your password, so you need to choose contact info that matches our records. If you need to update your contact information, or confirm the contact info we have on file, you can fill out this form or call Customer Service at 802-257-0236.

5. Enter the verification code you receive in the next screen, and create a password for your online Webcart account. Note: if you chose to receive the verification code via email and it is not appearing, make sure to check your spam folder.

6. Now you’re ready to shop!

How to register for an account: non-shareholders

Instructions for non-shareholders shopping online for the first time.

1. Click the Shop Online button on any page or visit Shop.BFC.coop. This will take you to our online shopping portal, which is called Webcart.

2. Click Register at the top-right corner of the screen (located next to the Shopping Cart icon).

3. Fill out the form and click Create Account to create an account in Webcart.

4. Check your email inbox for a verification code, then copy and paste it into the Account Verification screen (or simply follow the link). If you do not see a verification email, check your Spam folder.

5. Now you’re ready to shop!


How to shop, buy, and pick up

1. Once logged in, use the search bar to find items, or browse by department by clicking the department names at the top of the page.

2. Tap the ‘+’ button to add items to your Shopping Cart, or the ‘–’ button to remove products.

3. Click the Shopping Cart icon at the top-right corner to access the Shopping Cart summary screen. From here, you can add special instructions to individual items and/or general ordering instructions for the entire order.

4. When you’re ready to check out, click Check Out.

5. From the checkout screen, enter any notes or instructions, then click Continue.

6. Enter your first and last name, email address, and phone number, then click Continue.

7. Select your Pickup date and time and then click Continue.

8. Click Add New Card to add your payment method.

9. Click Place Your Order when you’re ready to order.

10. Check your email for an order confirmation.

11. Come to the Co-op on your chosen date and time. Be sure to bring your ID if purchasing beer or wine. When you arrive, pull into one of the first parking spots that are reserved for curbside pickup. Call the phone number on the yellow board, (802) 246-2802, to let us know you are here. A staff member will bring your order out to your vehicle. You may open your hatch so we can place your groceries inside.


Helpful tips to shop like a pro

  • Use the search bar at the top and search by whatever product, brand, or type of item you’re looking for
  • When looking at items, use the filters along the sidebar to narrow down the items by brand, department, or health attribute.
  • On your shopping cart summary page, add notes to specific items or the whole order in general
  • Be sure to check “Allow Substitutions” for individual items you’ll accept a similar item for in case we are out of stock of your first choice, or select “Allow All Substitutions” at the top of the Shopping Cart page, and we’ll find the closest substitutions for any out-of-stock items
  • Create a shopping list! See instructions below

How to create a shopping list

One of the great features of our online shopping portal is the ability to create a shopping list. Do you have regular items that you buy every week? Create a list, and you can order those at the click of a button! Or, do you need to make a list for a party or other event you’re hosting next week? No problem! You can also make lists for specific occasions and simply add items as you remember them. There are a couple of different ways to get a list started so that you can easily add items to a list at any point in your shopping process:

  • Click on any item, and you will see “Add to List” below the Add to Cart button. This will open a pop-up that allows you to select a specific shopping list to add the item to.
  • From your Shopping List page, you can also select individual items from each list to add to your shopping cart.
