We seek to support local not-for-profit initiatives essential to addressing hunger in Brattleboro, Windham County, and our local community.
Through our shoppers' generosity, we collect donations each month and write checks to each of the participants for use toward the growth of their missions and local programs. The month's total donation amount is divided equally between the organizations featured.
This is entirely a shopper-driven fundraising effort. Our cashiers will ask you if you want to “Round Up” your purchases when you check out. With your consent, your purchase total will be “rounded up” to the nearest dollar, and the difference will be donated to that month’s participating organizations. Those few cents each time you shop at the Co-op add up quickly and have done much good in our community.
Thank you.

BRATTLEBORO LITERARY FESTIVAL is a volunteer‑powered nonprofit celebrating readers and writers with free events, author talks, and year‑round literary programming that brings big ideas to a small Vermont town.
Groundworks operates the region’s largest and busiest food shelf program, Foodworks.
They also offer assistance through HousingWorks, SupportWorks, ChangeWorks, and HealthWorks. Groundworks.
Foodworks continues to distribute twice as much food as it did pre-COVID, with great shoppers visiting its store each month.
Groundworks collaborates with individuals and systems to develop solutions that eliminate hunger and homelessness for all people in our region. They envision a community in which all people have their basic needs met, including a safe and dignified place to call home.
