Vegan Tofurkey Franks & Beans
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp molasses
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 Tofurkey hot dogs, sliced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, sliced
- 3 cup pinto beans, cooked (or 2 cans, 15 oz each)
- salt to taste
Directions
- Whisk together molasses, mustard, chili powder, brown sugar, water and liquid smoke in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced Tofurkey dogs and cook them until they’re browned.
Remove them from the skillet and set aside. - Turn the skillet down to medium heat and brown the onions.
Then add garlic to onions and cook for another minute (just till fragrant). - Turn the heat down to medium low and add the beans and the molasses mix.
Bring to a simmer and cook about 10 more minutes until the whole mix gets thick, stirring often. Salt to taste and serve.
