As we reported to you in Food for Thought on August 15, the GM Search Committee embarked on a thorough search for GM candidates through multiple online job sites as well as our own BFC Careers page. We received 140 applications.
Our outside consultant identified 40 applicants to assess more closely. Screening interviews were conducted for ten of them. The insights we gleaned from those interviews helped us identify five promising candidates.
Aided by observers representing staff and shareholder perspectives—Jerelyn Wilson, Cindy Hutcheson (current employee), and Ann Wright (former employee)—the Committee interviewed two candidates (the others withdrew before we could meet with them).
After careful consideration of each candidate’s merits, the Search Committee has recommended to the Board that Emilee Hobbs, Interim GM, be advanced as a finalist for the position. As such, Emilee will go through a process that will include an interview with the management team, opportunities to meet with staff about her candidacy, and an interview with the full Board.
