From the Board of Directors
As you may be aware from our email to shareholders, or from the article in the April 5th Reformer, our General Manager Anthony Santorelli is stepping down at the end of June for personal reasons. You can read more about that here.
In light of Anthony’s departure, the Board of Directors has formed a GM search committee. It consists of a subset of the Board including Kevin Brennan, Board Treasurer, serving as the Chair; Michele Meulendyk, Board President, as Co-Chair; and Board members Calvin Dame, Denise Glover, and Anneka Kindler.
The search committee is tasked with coordinating the GM search process on behalf of the Board, providing regular communication on the Board’s progress and ensuring broad stakeholder engagement.
In the meantime, the Board has reviewed and accepted Anthony’s modification to the Continued Operation plan, as called for by Board Policy B.5. This policy-mandated element of Board oversight ensures the Co-op has a plan for the continuation of day-to-day operations should the GM be absent, whether the absence be planned, unplanned or permanent. We welcome Director of People and Culture Emilee Hobbs as she prepares to transition into the Interim General Manager role upon Anthony’s departure in June.
We look forward to supporting Emilee during the transition. As Interim GM, Emilee will report regularly to the Board regarding operations, professional development and any other metrics identified by both parties. The Board will continue to monitor the health and progress of the Co-op through its regular policy monitoring schedule.
While Policy B.5 – Continued Operation assures that all key leadership roles are fulfilled during absence and transition, the Board, in due diligence to its responsibility to shareholders, will continue to prepare for the possible need for a broader GM Search.
