As of January 22nd, the Brattleboro Food Co-op will have a new General Manager. On Wednesday, January 10th, the Board of Directors voted to offer the position of General Manager to Anthony Santorelli. Anthony has been the Co-op’s CFO since April 2023. The Board’s decision is based on strong internal support from both managers and bargaining unit staff as well as his previous experience. Anthony is well-respected by the Core Team and Managers and the Board has confidence that he will bring the same level of personable and clear communication skills to the full staff. Anthony is well-positioned to hold the positive trajectory that the Co-op is currently on. His financial acumen is proven. He has broad experience in enterprises both large and small, and is an experienced team leader.

The Board has been in an active search for a new General Manager since Lee Bradford gave notice in late August. From over a hundred candidates three finalists were chosen. Each participated in a two-day interview that included a full store tour, an interview with the full management team, conversations with the marketing team, union stewards and meet & greet sessions with staff, and an in-person interview with the Board of Directors.

Stay tuned for a full introduction to Anthony and more on the Board’s process and decision in the February Food For Thought e-newsletter!
