Do you love to sew? Why not earn your BFC 5% working shareholder discount by doing something you love with a fun group of BFC community members? Whether you are a beginner or an advanced seamster it doesn’t matter—even if you have never sewn a thing we want you to join us and try it out while making new friends. They are also a great gift idea for friends and family. Hobby Sewist Donna-Lee will lead a workshop introducing you to 3 simple and snazzy bag patterns that are fun and easy to make: a shopping bag with handles, an over-the-shoulder shopping sack, and a drawstring bag. One of each bag will be cut out and waiting for you to put together during the workshop.
We will have some extra fabric and sewing goodies available to take home for your future bag projects. Donna will demonstrate cutting out the bags and putting them together. The bags you sew in class will be sold at the Co-op to customers needing reusable bags. 100% of the profits are put into the Co-op’s Shareholder Assistance Fund. And you will receive shareholder hours for this workshop and made bags.
When you leave, you will have the skills and patterns to make your reusable bags at home. Everything you need for the workshop will be provided!
We have a couple of sewing machines available for the class, but if you have one, please consider bringing it along for your own use (we would not expect you to share – our machines are precious and personal).
Fun snacks will be provided, and all participants will earn two Shareholder Hours for participating in this event. The class is limited to 10 participants. Register below.
