Are you curious about how best to support a healthy pregnancy, birth, ample breast milk, and long-term health? Simple, slow-cooked, soul food supports new families. So many community members want to help new families during this profound transformation but do not yet know how to best nourish a new family. Bring your curiosity and leave with a belly full of nourishment and knowledge to empower you for a lifetime.

This class aims to demystify what a new family needs to thrive and how community members can best serve a new family with a nourishing, home-cooked meal. Learn how to make collagen-rich broth and other foods traditionally used for post-birth nourishment, healing, and ample milk supply.

Melissa Boyles is a women’s health care practitioner providing birth preparation and postpartum services. Her business is re-culturing the norms around conception, pregnancy, and postpartum in the West. Her work revolves around the knowledge that when families arise from the birth continuum vital and in health, communities will reflect that vibrancy thus benefiting us all. Children are welcome to accompany a parent, however, childcare is not provided.

Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advanced notice. This is a free class, however, registration is required.
