The Deli here at the Co-op is a very special destination. We’re rooted in the local downtown community and depended on by tourists, founding Co-op owners, and everyone in between, including our own team members across the store, for delicious nourishment. Everything from breakfast, lunch, and dinner, to a snack or something sweet, we have it covered. Our friendly and knowledgeable team in the Deli will greet you with a smile and serve you up some of the best food this side of the Mississippi.
We focus on using as much local, regional, and organic product as possible throughout the department. Did I mention we have the largest selection of eat-in or take-home scratch-made prepared and ready-to-eat foods in the Brattleboro/Windham County region? That’s right! We are thirty-six team members strong, including veteran employees with thirty years here at the Co-op. How many places can boast about that?
Our kitchen is a “scratch” kitchen—that means most everything we sell and make is made completely from scratch—no box mixes here. If a product comes in pre-made, it has to be a locally/regionally made item. Our trained and skilled chefs and cooks are always whipping up something new and fresh. Speaking of whipping up, our trained pastry chef is always busy whipping up something sweet and delicious in our Bakery, from muffins to cookies, cakes, scones, pies, and brownies, oh my! The freshly baked selections are second to none.
Everyone is involved in recipe development and flavor choices—this is another great thing about the Deli at the Co-op: everyone has a voice in what we do and sell. Some good examples, which are aptly named after the team members who created them, are: the Sweet Caroline Smoothie, Beth’s Brownies, The Black Diamond sandwich, and Dano’s Edamame, to name a few.
Choices, choices, choices…. So many food choices.
Holidays/Events/Catering/Weddings—whether you pick up in-store, take home, or have delivered and served for you, we have all the bases covered here at the Brattleboro Food Co-op Deli/Bakery. Yes: we do cater weddings, and are actually booked solid for this calendar year. We are even catering for one of our very own managers who will be tying the knot later this year! Congratulations!
During the winter holidays, our store was closed so our team could enjoy some well-deserved rest after a busy year. However, we still made sure to give back by serving and donating meals to those in need. It’s something we’re really proud of, as not all stores take that extra step to support their communities like we do.
I can keep bragging about this team, but stop in and see and experience for yourself.
