Greetings to all our members, team members, community partners and valued patrons. This will be my last communication to you all in my current capacity as General Manager here at BFC. While my tenure here had to end rather abruptly, it was still filled with some of the most cherished experiences in my lifetime. The people I have worked with, the individuals I have spent time with and the community members I have had the opportunity to interact with, have truly made a lasting impression on me. I joined the BFC family to be part of something that could make a difference, an opportunity to give back to the very community we live in. Those expectations were more than met. Our co-op is a cornerstone of the Brattleboro community, not just from a grocery retail perspective, but as an example of the cooperative model and all the positives that come with it: inclusivity, our support of the local economy, striving for sustainable environmental practices, nutritious and responsibly sourced foods. By living and breathing these core values, we have positioned ourselves as synonymous with the town of Brattleboro itself. None of this would be possible without each one of you, the lifeblood of this organization. So it is to all of you that I need to say THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of this special place.
There is a bright future ahead. We are investing in our core assets: our people and our building. We continue to look at ways to expand and promote our business and community involvement. We celebrated our 50th anniversary this year and will use what those prior 50 years taught us as a foundation into the next century and beyond. Because remember:
🎶 you can’t go back and you can’t stand still. And if the thunder don’t get you, then the lightning will 🎶
