Thank you for considering Brattleboro Food Co-op to retail your products.

New Vendor Application packets must be delivered to:

Please mark the packet New Vendor Application. Submit to the Customer Service desk when delivering in person. Please note: We do not review New Vendor Applications in November and December.

Checklist for New Vendor Application packet:

  • Vendor Contact Information, including an email address. If you use a billing address that is different from your facility or farm address, please include both
  • List of products available, including seasonal info if applicable
  • List of wholesale prices and suggested retail prices for each product
  • Ingredient Lists, if applicable
  • County, State, and Country of Origin
  • Actual product samples of non-perishable products
  • Actual packaging samples of perishable products
  • Copies of relevant permits, licenses, insurance, and inspection forms required for you to sell to retail establishments
  • Cost and terms offered. 30-day terms required. If available, ACH payment is preferred. 
  • Sample of invoice to be provided
  • List of current retailers in the Brattleboro/Windham County area. If you also retail your own products at farmer’s markets, the internet, or in other ways, please include those in this list
  • Modes of communicating orders/credits. Email or ECRS Gateway is preferred.
  • Credit and Return Policy
  • Average order to delivery time
  • Any additional charges we may see on the invoice with an explanation (i.e., fuel charge, shipping, etc.)

The following information is also needed if it is applicable:

  • Product UPC (preferably unique to each product)
  • Nutritional Information
  • Organic Certificate
  • Certified Naturally Grown Certificate
  • Humane Raised and Handled Certificate
  • Fair Trade Certificate
  • Animal Welfare Approved Certificate
  • Food Facility Health Permit
  • Other certifications that are applicable to this product

If you are accepted into BFC, we want to make sure that you are highlighted in the best possible way to foster a vibrant business partnership. Please also include this information in your New Vendor Application packet.

  • For products made or processed in Vermont, are the majority of ingredients (by volume, excluding water) sourced from Vermont? Please explain in detail.
  • Is your company a cooperative?
  • Is your company women and/or minority-owned?
  • Is your company a Certified B Corporation?
  • In light of these questions, please provide anything else we should know about you and your products.

Sustainability is a core value of the Brattleboro Food Coop. Our Ends Policies state that BFC “exist[s] to serve its shareholders’ collective needs for:… An enterprise that engages in sustainable and regenerative environmental practices”

Please provide detailed information in your New Vendor Application packet on the following if it is applicable.

  • Renewable Energy used
  • Packaging practices
  • Recycling and reusing of material
  • Avoiding petroleum-based materials
  • If there is anything else related to sustainability that we should know about, please explain in detail

Requirements and Regulatory Information

Please provide all licenses and certifications. Products requiring licenses include but are not limited to Honey, Maple Syrup, Meat, Milk, and Frozen Desserts. Please refer to the Vermont Department of Agriculture website for more information. https://agriculture.vermont.gov/license-and-registrations

Once our team has received your application, please allow two weeks to receive a response back. Please, no phone calls or emails with in that time frame.
