Brattleboro Food Co-op Announces 2nd Annual Ice Cream Social

July 10, 2018  | Community, Events, Food, News

The Brattleboro Food Co-op Staff and Board of Directors are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Ice Cream Social, to be held on Saturday, July 28th on the Whetstone Pathway, across from the Co-op, from 12 – 3 p.m.  This community-building event was a great success last year, generating awareness and support of local kid-centered organizations. Stop by for a free bowl of ice cream from Walpole Creamery, and enjoy some family-friendly entertainment. We do ask that anyone joining us consider making a small donation to this year’s featured organizations: Boys and Girls Club, KidsPLAYce, Youth Services, and the Green Street Promise Community. Representatives from these organizations will be on hand to answer questions.  Other organizations on hand will be Building Bright Futures and Brattleboro Museum and Art Center. The Brattleboro Food Co-op enjoys its role as a welcoming community marketplace and is taking on the majority of cost to present this event to the community.

The Brattleboro Food Co-op was formed in 1975 as a small buying club, and now occupies a 16,000 square foot store in a four-story building right downtown that also includes offices, a community room, a cooking classroom, a commissary kitchen, and 24 apartments owned and managed by Windham and Windsor Housing Trust. Over 7,500 people own this vibrant organization, built on cooperative principles and dedicated to supporting a sustainable food system.
