Board of Directors Meeting
Board of Directors Meeting
All Shareholders are encouraged to join the BFC Board of Directors for their monthly meeting. Our Board meets on the first Monday of the month from 5:00-7:30. At each meeting, we evaluate three things: the work of the General Manager, our own work, and the health of the BFC. We schedule time at the beginning of each meeting for shareholders to provide input. If you would like to attend a meeting, please contact us at board@bfc.coop or at 802-246-2820. CARROTS! Try some today at the Co-op! Homegrown carrots have an incomparable flavor. Did you know that Charlie Nardozzi of VPR recommends planting a final crop of carrots around August 10th? He suggests planting a 60-day variety such as ‘YaYa’, ‘Napoli’ or ‘Thumbelina.’ Cover them with a floating row cover and when you water the carrots spray right on top of the cover to keep the soil consistently moist. This will protect your carrots from pests. If you keep your carrots thinned, weeded, and protected from frost, you will have super sweet treats from your garden into the winter! Join Lisa at the Co-op to try some Vermont Salumi! Authentic, All-Natural, Handmade Charcuterie from the Vermont Countryside. Smoked Paprika This salami is robust and spicy with paprika and ground red pepper balanced with a rich character from the fat, similar to Spanish chorizo or recipes from southern Italy.
