Come to the Co-op to sample products from Meadowscape at Everlasting Herb Farm! Wendy from Meadowscape at Everlasting Herb Farm will be at the Brattleboro Food Cooperative to provide samples of her products. Her products include salves, cuticle creams, and deodorant. Wendy says, "I became an herbalist after Isabelle Hadley, who lives in Whitingham, was a guest speaker in my health class that I taught in Wilmington. I was so enchanted with how she used plants for health and how wonderful they looked when dried, and how fabulous they smelled." Be sure to swing by the Co-op to meet Laura from Norwich Farm Creamery, who will be hosting a tasting. The creamery sources all its milk from the historic, award-winning herd of Jersey cows at Billings Farm. Laura will be bringing creamline milk, creamline chocolate milk, and cultured ricotta. These are new products for us at the Brattleboro Food Coop, and we are excited to offer them to our shoppers. Stop by to meet Laura and learn more about how they prepare these delicious products!

CANCELLED We're sorry, but we have canceled this event due to a lack of registration. However, we will be hosting this again another month, so keep an eye out! Learn to make some great shopping bags with BFC’s Donna-Lee and Lisa while making our coop more sustainable and earning shareholder hours! We will be making bags that will be sold to benefit our Shareholder Assistance Program. After class, you can head home to make more for your family to use… or earn shareholder hours by making them for the store as a volunteer. Limit 10 participants. Since these meats are available by the slice at the deli counter, it is possible to pick them up without adding a lot of plastic waste to the planet- ask for a compostable container. Come to the Co-op and try some (new to the Co-op) artisan Vermont-made cheese-style products that have been the talk of the BFC staff from the very first taste! Ric from Nourish of Saint Albans, VT, will be at the Co-op to give folks the chance to try Nourish's sumptuous cheese alternative products. We will be offering tastings of their: Vegan/Gluten-Free Artisan Bleu Vegan/Gluten-Free Artisan Brie Artisan Feta Crumbles We will be offering a few other products if they are available as well. Would you like your seedlings and plant starts to get the best possible start in life? Just like raising children, it pays big dividends later on if you mind the details in the early days. Unlike raising children, it is easy to do, with or without experience; you just have to follow this handy recipe! Stop by this plant "start" and vermicompost demo which will happen with Lisa (of the BFC) just outside the Co-op. She is hoping to turn thumbs of all ages into green thumbs. Little Ones Cooking Class
Little Ones Cooking Class
Ages 2-8, with parent. Get ready for berry season by learning how to make Lazy Varenikis, a traditional Russian and Ukrainian dish. Kids will measure, mix, crack eggs, roll the dough into ropes, and more! Varenikis are a great way to get some healthy fats and protein into your kiddos, and are delicious served with sour cream and jam. BFC’s Lisa has memories of gobbling them up with Russian family friends as a kid. Please note this is not a vegan recipe, but Lisa will try to work with your child’s dietary needs if contacted well in advance.

CANCELLED Cooking class, ages 9-14. In this class, we will be making traditional Goi Cuon (Vietnamese Spring Rolls) with Peanut Dipping Sauce. Students will have the opportunity to hone their knife skills and learn to make a delicious summer meal for their families. A vegan option is available if requested in advance.
