Try Before You Buy: Fauxmaggio

Brattleboro Food Co-op 2 Main Street, Brattleboro, VT

No Dairy? No Worries! Dan LiBoissonnault We caught up with Dan LiBoissonnault of Dan’s Power Plant to find out what inspired him to start making his delicious dairy-free cultured cheesy spreads. In his own words, “As my lifestyle of eating meats and cheeses paired with wine started to take a toll on my health, I turned to dietary changes rather than the medications my doctor was prescribing. By turning to a 100% plant-based (vegan) diet and incorporating yoga into my life, I felt 100% better. My passion is to share the wealth, to introduce healthful foods to people so they can also enjoy the health benefits.” Come meet Dan and taste his delicious Garlic & Herb Spread, Green Onion & […]

Try Before You Buy: Vermont Salumi

Brattleboro Food Co-op 2 Main Street, Brattleboro, VT

Join Lisa at the Co-op to try some Vermont Salumi! Authentic, All-Natural, Handmade Charcuterie from the Vermont Countryside. Smoked Paprika This salami is robust and spicy with paprika and ground red pepper balanced with a rich character from the fat, similar to Spanish chorizo or recipes from southern Italy. Fennel Our take on the classic finocchiona, this salami is approachable, aromatic, and sweet with a dusting of coarse-ground fennel seeds Juniper Bright, clean, and reminiscent of northern Italy’s alpine landscape where Juniper reigns supreme. Red Wine & Garlic Simply seasoned with cracked pepper, red wine, and garlic. This salami is round, earthy, and studded with buttery, melt-in-your-mouth fat.

Try Before You Buy: Hidden Bean Bakery

Brattleboro Food Co-op 2 Main Street, Brattleboro, VT

Here is what Kelsey of Hidden Bean Bakery has to say about the founding of her business. "It all started during my senior year of college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As a Nutrition major, I had learned the health risks of consuming excess sugar, but I had observed that most people (myself included) weren’t going to give up dessert. To balance my dream of having a bakery with my desire to help people find improved health, I began adapting recipes in line with my mission: to provide treats that were a little lower in sugar and a little higher in nutrients, so that people could indulge and still feel good." Come to meet Kelsey and try her delicious baked […]
